How We Work

Private investigators can work in many different ways but the methods used determine the quality of the results. The ASAC Group implements the most effective tried and tested methods of private investigation and believe that it is important to do a job right the first time to increase efficiency, save money and deliver the best results. The ASAC Group are differentiated from other private detectives as at every stage of the private investigation they utilise a two- man team of private investigators for the most thorough, objective and rapid results.

The benefits of using a minimum two man team of private investigators are:

  • A decreased chance of losing the target in difficult traffic conditions, traffic lights etc
  • The likelihood of the target suspecting they are being followed is decreased
  • Two different vehicles involved maximises efficiency
  • There is a greater chance of covering several entry and exit points when a target departs or arrives at a location
  • Obtaining quality video evidence or 'the money shot' is possible in a shorter period of time saving money
  • Getting it right the 1st time limits the chances of being discovered and failing the private investigation

The ASAC Group are also unique in that they are a quality value-for-money service provider. ASAC will even employ extra private detectives if needed at NO EXTRA COST to the client, ensuring they deliver results. In other words, "If the surveillance operation requires four agents instead of two to obtain that crucial piece of evidence, ASAC will only charge the client for the two private investigators" ASAC strongly believes in providing value and quality private investigation and surveillance services to all its clients.

The Process of a Private Investigation

The actual process of private investigation can be quite time-consuming and it is important to make the best use of the information, resources, time and private detectives, to ensure the quickest and thorough results.

- Information Gathering

The first step of private investigation involves establishing the purpose of the private investigation with the client and what they would like to achieve in a set time period, which can be done through a face-to-face meeting or over the phone.

Building a profile on the target requires many facets of an operation to achieve the desired result.

Information provided by the client to the private detective includes:

  • The name of the target, their address, work addresses
  • Vehicles they drive or are likely to be in including REGO's
  • Information about the target such as their daily habits, and when they are most likely to display the suspected behaviour
  • A photo or description of the target
  • Any other useful information which may seem irrelevant to the client may offer be the key to cracking the case

- Surveillance & Time

Surveillance involves a team of private investigators observing the target in a discreet and unnoticeable way while gathering video and photographic evidence. The private investigators will often follow people in several different vehicles to varying destinations to gather this evidence. While conducting surveillance the private detectives will change their appearance and will blend into their environment to minimise discovery by the target.

The time taken to conduct the surveillance depends on the particular job. There is sometimes a need for additional surveillance hours in situations where a person may be surveillance aware or is a difficult target for several reasons:

  • The previous surveillance company got caught
  • The cheating spouse or wrong doer has a guilty conscience and is looking over their shoulder
  • Drug related (buyer or seller)targets tend to be quite paranoid
  • Paranoia or mental illness

- Proof and Conclusion

At this stage of the private investigation when ASAC Group have achieved the desired result for the client, evidence is supplied in the form of activity logs recording all observations. A DVD of video footage is supplied and a CD containing still photos can be supplied on request at no extra charge.
